Wade drew our attention today to the conference being jointly staged by the CrossGlobal Link, Evangelical Missiological Society and The Mission Exchange.

http://www.themissionexchange.org/reset/

It will take place Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2011 in Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ. Costs are fairly high —

http://www.themissionexchange.org/reset/registration.php

(The Missions Ministers Roundtable is better for pricing. )
But the content should be *nearly* as solid as what you get at our annual event.
I jest.
The truth is, it should be a great meeting.
For those who can make it, we’ll plan on a Missions Ministers Roundtable get-together sometime near the beginning to pray for the event, and near the end to jointly process it.

The team consists of Patty Ciarla, Pat Creech, Randy Gordon, Wade Landers, Doug Lucas, Steve Newland, and Dave Stewart. There was a broad agreement that the 2010 Roundtable was the best ever. Feedback ranged through comments like these…

“The table groups were great. I went in thinking, ‘Now wait, I want to hear so-and-so,’ but by the end of the day, I was thinking, ‘This has been awesome.’”

“Right — and I loved it that we switched-up tables so many times during the day. That way, if we got a really bum deal the first time, at least we could make up for it in the next configuration.” [laughter]

“Yup, it was like “Roundtable: Survivor Edition.” Who were we going to vote off the island.”

“Well I’m tellin’ ya; I’ve been coming to these since Glen Elliott started them 8 years ago. This was the best one ever.”

“I liked that it was organized, but not so much that we couldn’t flex a bit.”

“I thought the ending time was good [6pm].”

“The day whizzed by. 5pm came and it was time for dinner, but I wanted more sessions.”

“I liked the extended breaks for networking.”

“I liked the small group feel, but I also liked when we did the large group sessions. “

“To me, the most valuable take-away was — I got to sit side by side with other men and women who do what I do, 8 hours a day (or more), every work day of the year. And that was worth it on its own.”

The group committed to improving the Roundtable over the next year. Wade volunteered to put together a simple and quick questionnaire so we could collect input from the whole group. That will help us pull together initial ideas for 2011.

The group brainstormed about improvements and plans for the future. We’ll save those for another article, after the questionnaire. Thanks to all who helped make the 2010 Missions Ministers Roundtable a success!

“This is without a doubt the one meeting each year that I’m sure to make.”

“This was by far the most helpful Roundtable yet.”

“I’ve literally been at this job for less than a week. I’ve made so many friendships and formed so many networks here. I feel so much more equipped to get started.”

Those were just some of the comments following yesterday’s Missions Ministers’ Roundtable discussions. God be praised… why would we ever doubt… we *prayed* about the event: Wouldn’t we expect God to answer our prayers!?

Now the NMC begins in some 10 hours. Let’s pray that it will be the best ever as well!
